Student Space is A movement powered by students across South Carolina who are ready to be the change.

Student Space believes students are valuable assets who deserve a seat at the table in education decision-making. Student Space aims to amplify student voices across South Carolina. StuSpace began after students recognized the need for students in the conversation. South Carolina faces many challenges and students are key to effectively addressing those challenges. StuSpace works to empower students to take an active role in their own education. Our work spans across the state on all levels, from the classroom to the state house.

How we work towards a better South Carolina:

  • We host roundtable discussions at schools. You can email kayla@stuspace.org to schedule one at your school.

  • Sit on panels at education conferences to inform adult allies.

  • Stay informed about local & state policy. (Check out this op-ed)

  • Host annual student lobby day at the SC state house.

  • Transform student councils & advocate for district student advisory councils.

“Public education is the answer to South Carolina having a great future. It should be ... the overriding most important issue facing state government” -
— Gov. Richard Riley
